IWM in March 2012

The Institute for Human Sciences (IWM, Vienna) invites for two of its programs in March.

A discussion with Alfred Gusenbauer (former chancellor of Austria), Christopher Lauer (member of PIRATEN, Berlin), Katherine S. Newman (professor of sociology, dean of School of Arts and Sciences, John Hopkins University, Baltimore ) and Lilia Shevtsova (chair of the program “Russian Domestic Politics and Political Institutions”, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Moscow and Washington D.C.) will take part in a discussion on The State and the Crisis (series: Debating Europe / Europa im Diskurs). The discussion will be moderated by Ivan Krastev (Permanent Fellow, IWM Vienna; chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies, Sofia).

Venue: Burgtheater, Dr.-Karl-Lueger-Ring 2, A-1010 Vienna. Time: March 11, 2012, at 11 am.

On March 28, 2012 at 6 pm (at IWM Library) Júlia Király (Honorary professor of Budapest University of Economics and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary) will speak On the History of the Global Financial Crisis. The Hungarian Case.
