Elena Messner (Wien) / Antonia Rahofer (Innsbruck): Unerhört / Überhört: AkteurInnen und repräsentative Figuren des literarischen und politischen Lebens in Serbien, Kroatien, Bosnien und Slowenien nach 1991

Ausgehend von einem Vergleich ausgewählter AutorInnen soll die Funktion der Schriftsteller, ihre Politisierung und teilweise Vereinnahmung von stark außerliterarischen Inhalten exemplifiziert werden.

Elena Messner (Wien) / Antonia Rahofer (Innsbruck): Unheard of/missed. Stakeholders and representative Figures of the Literary and Political Life in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia after 1911

Based on the comparison of selected authors, the function of writers, their politicization and their partial induction of strongly extra literary contents will be exemplified. This happens on the one hand  by looking at their biography and on the other hand on their essayistic, essentially unilateral writings, by which in a next step the role and function of literature and litterateurs in post-communist, post-Yugoslavian post-war states Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia are deducible.

Dies geschieht einerseits in einem Blick auf deren Biografie und andererseits auf deren essayistische, weitestgehend unliterarische Texte, woraus in einem weiteren Schritt die Rolle und Funktion von Literatur und Literaten in den postkommunistischen, postjugoslawischen Nachkriegsstaaten Serbien, Kroatien, Bosnien und Slowenien ableitbar werden.
Literatur wird als identitätsbildendes Medium, als Ort nationaler Kollektive bzw. als DER Ort des kollektiven (nationalen) Gedächtnisses interpretierbar und steht darüber hinaus ebenso als Gegenentwurf solcher kultureller Zwangsgemeinschaften zur Verfügung: nämlich als Medium subjektiver, individueller Zeugenschaft, das sich dem Einfluss hegemonialer Diskurse erfolgreich entzieht. Über die Rezeptionsanalyse der v.a. soziokulturell bzw. politisch relevanten Texte, die dennoch über einen hohen Grad an Literarizität verfügen, lassen sich außerdem Rückschlüsse über die Bewertung der AutorInnen in einem gesamtgesellschaftlichen System ziehen.

Literature will be interpreted as an identity-building medium, as a place of national community respectively as THE place of collective (national) memory and is as a counter-draft of cultural coerced communities: namely as a medium of subjective, individual witnessing, which successfully eludes the influence of hegemonic discourses. Through the analysis of the reception of the, above all, socio-cultural and respectively politically relevant writings, which nevertheless are of a high degree of literariness, it is possible to draw conclusions about the assessment of authors in a system of the whole of society.
