The Artifices of Government. On the appropriation, the use and the formation of states will be the Topic of a Workshop on 20.-21. July 2006 (at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Halle) organized by Julia Eckert (Max Planck-Institute for Social Anthropology, Halle), Dietrich Jung (Danish Institute for International Studies, Copenhagen) and Klaus Schlichte (Humboldt- University, Berlin).
The Call for Papers [.pdf], including all Details and an Exposé, was already published. Contributions should address a specific context and explore one of the fields outlined above. Proposals should not exceed 3 pages and reach one of the organizers till December 15, 2005. Travel and accommodation costs of papergivers will be covered.
