IAPSS, the International Asociation for Political Science Students, built up the Bridges Network and invites now to participate at the international conference New Europe. Who's afraid of democratization? which will take place between 5th - 11th of September 2005 in Bucharest, Romania.

emerged as a specialized network of and for political science students from Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe; an appropriate answer to the necessity of having professional cooperation between members of the academic political science community from this region.
The objectives of Bridges Network are:
  • To develop national and regional projects and programs in which topics
  • of the Central and Eastern Europe are discussed and analyzed by political science students, future opinion leaders and policy makers
  • To develop and take part in international and European projects focused on regional issues
  • To function as a permanent liaison between its members, facilitating exchange of knowledge, ideas and opinions, as well as training and full actualization of its members.

The conference “New Europe. Who’s afraid of democratization?” represents a first step in institutionalizing IAPSS Bridges Network. The invited participants are students of political science and/or representative of political science students association, originating from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Republic of Moldavia, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia-Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

The application should be sent to bridges.network@iapss.org. The deadline for submitting the aplications is 15th of June 2005 and the selected participants will be announced by the 30th of June 2005.

(And don't follow their recommended link http://www.iapss.org/bridges, it's a dead lock/link; nevertheless the Conference seems to get an quite interesting one.)
