The Institute for Minority Rights at the European Academy Bolzano (EURAC) looks for a scientific collaborator to reinforce the team in the area of political science/international relations [English, Deutsch, Italiano].

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Scientific collaboration for "protection of minorities in ethnic conflicts" with emphasis on the Balkans and Newly Independent States
  • Support organizational work on the project
  • Collaborate on the MIRIS data base (Minority Rights Information System) and the publications of the Institute

Requirements:

  • University degree in political science, with preferential emphasis in "international relations", "comparative political systems"
  • Knowledge of policy making and history of the Balkans and Newly Independent States
  • Working experience is an advantage
  • Outstanding knowledge of the English language (Written and Spoken)
  • Very good knowledge of one or several Slavic languages
  • Knowledge of German or Italian is an advantage

Accademia Europea Bolzano/Europäische Akademie Bozen/European Academy of Bolzano/Bozen (EURAC) is an innovative institute for research and scientific training in South Tyrol. A private institution, its activity is primarily concentrated in five fields: Applied Linguistics, Minorities and Autonomies, Sustainable Development, Management and Corporate Culture as well as Life Science.
These five very different research departments share a common denominator: flexible interdisciplinary co-operation between the researchers' of diverse scientific and geographic backgrounds.
At the EURAC, linguists and computer scientists work together to compile digital learning dictionaries, legal experts from various countries explore models of autonomy and federalism to ensure the protection of minorities in the enlarging European Union, while ecologists develop experts future scenarios for the development of the Alpine region together with economists.
