Ab Herbst bietet die Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald den neuen Studiengang Baltische Regionalstudien/Baltijos regiono studijos an. Es ist der einzige Masterstudiengang für Baltistik in Deutschland. Während des zweijährigen Studiums wird Regional- und Landeskunde mit einer sprach- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Ausbildung
verbunden. Studienorte sind Greifswald und Vilnius (Litauen).
