Within the Excellence Cluster 264 Topoi - The Formation and Transformation of Space and Knowledge in Ancient Civilizations", which has been set up in the framework of the Excellence Initiative at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität Berlin, one doctoral grant in Modern German Literature (Ref. no. DS/E-I/02/09) is being offered within the Research Group E-I Knowledge of ancient spaces as processed by the arts. Ancient spaces as spaces of motion in post-ancient times - factography, imagination, and construction. Application deadline: February 28, 2009.
The support is to begin on 1 April 2009.
The support for the doctoral students for all grants lasts up to three years (two plus one). The prerequisite is an outstanding university degree in one of the fields mentioned above.
