Eine erfreuliche Erneuerung ist zu vermelden: Seit Februar 2009 ist die neue Webpräsentation von Ariadne, der frauenspezifischen Informations- und Dokumentationsstelle an der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek, online. Frauen in Bewegung: 1918–1938. Biographien, Vereinsprofile, Dokumente ist ein Informationssystem zu frauenbewegten und frauenpolitischen Aktivitäten während der Ersten Republik und des ständestaatlichen Regimes.

 

 Spaces of Identity

With a few weeks' delay, the December issue of spacesofidentity.net is online now. After going "beyond" Central Europe in the summer issue, which dealt with "the other East" on occasion of the Beijing Olympics, this issue returns to the multiple layers of identity formation processes in Central Europe.

 New OA initiative

An excellent initiative shall be announced in order to promote the idea of Open Access in the humanities:

Call for Participants in an Open Access Faculty-Library Publishing Partnership Development Grant by Open Humanities Press/Public Knowledge Project

The Open Humanities Press and the Public Knowledge Project invite interested libraries to join us in developing a grant proposal to form an international faculty-library publishing partnership. Ideally this will serve as a model for other scholar-led, open access (OA) monograph publishing in humanities and social sciences disciplines.
