The original title of the play is Untertagblues. Ein Stationendrama, it's by Peter Handke and this month can be seen on 2 December from 19:00h at the Czech Cultural Centre and on 14 - 15 December from 20:00h at The Red House Culture and Debate Centre.

The play is directed by Veselin Dimov and is realised by Momo Theatre Company. I've seen it in November at the Sofia City Art Gallery and I really like it. I like the idea and the text of the play and very much the way it is presented.

all the characters except the main one are projected on a screen

It's a multimedia performance during which all the characters except the main one are projected on a screen simulating a trip in the underground coach. The main character also stays behind the screen and all the time communicates with the other screened persons in one way or another.

I know that the play is put up on different stages in Europe since 2004 but I am now curious to find out if this multimedia way of screening it is used only here - in Bulgaria.

Welcome to the [Sofia] weblog, a part of the Kakanien Revisited weblog network. The Team - Dimiter, Assen and Mira - all three PhD students in the Department of History and Theory of Culture at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will try to create an image - although sometimes a faceted and incoherent one - of the Bulgarian academia, culture, ongoing events, ideas, realities and virtual spaces. All of you - our readers - are warmheartedly invited to join us in this endeavor with your comments and suggestions.
