St. Sofia, Orthodox theology says, is the name of God’s Infinite Wisdom. So, in a some how audacious gesture this weblog is trying to imaginary intercept wisdom’s name with its geographical embodiment, to find and question, so to say, the possibility of a "melting pot" and actualization of pure wisdom on a, as small as Bulgaria, spot ...

Ironically or not, on purpose or as a coincidence, our weblog is dedicated to Sofia and Sofia, to humanitarian life and culture in Bulgaria.

The Weblog team particular academic interests lie under the formal concept of National Literary and Historical Cannons but our interdisciplinary seed can not take for long within those thematic boundaries. We always look around for different and alternative scientific happenings along the traditional and well-stated academic events. Our initial goal is to make you a part of this to some fertile, to others limiting Bulgarian Sofia atmosphere.

Sofia

Welcome to the [Sofia] weblog, a part of the Kakanien Revisited weblog network. The Team - Dimiter, Assen and Mira - all three PhD students in the Department of History and Theory of Culture at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will try to create an image - although sometimes a faceted and incoherent one - of the Bulgarian academia, culture, ongoing events, ideas, realities and virtual spaces. All of you - our readers - are warmheartedly invited to join us in this endeavor with your comments and suggestions.
