[ Sofia Fest ]

The annual week of so called "Small Season" in Sfumato Theater will continue until this Sunday, 8 July.

After the official end of the theatrical season in Sofia, Sfumato Theater organizes a whole week full with many unconventional performances, plays, shows and concerts created mainly by young actors, directors, artists and musicians. For most of them these is the place and time to make their first public debut.

Two days ago I saw "Oskar and the Lady in Pink" which was really a marvelous play. It's a mono spectacle with Yordanka Stefanova who has gain the theatre awards “Askeer” in 2001 and 2004 for main female role and a director debut of Yordan Slaveikov who graduated the National Theater Academy in 2006.

You can find the “Small Season” program with short description for each event in English here.

Welcome to the [Sofia] weblog, a part of the Kakanien Revisited weblog network. The Team - Dimiter, Assen and Mira - all three PhD students in the Department of History and Theory of Culture at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" will try to create an image - although sometimes a faceted and incoherent one - of the Bulgarian academia, culture, ongoing events, ideas, realities and virtual spaces. All of you - our readers - are warmheartedly invited to join us in this endeavor with your comments and suggestions.
