Balkan Express Network (BE) - partner of the European Off Network
The Balkan Express has been created as a network of the Balkan performing arts in order to (re)establish the mobility of art in the Balkans as well as to improve the exchange with the rest of Europe.

Focus points of the work of the Balkan Express are:
    The creation of an information point for Balkan cooperation through information centres in different countries and a Balkan performing arts database;
    organizing individual and group visits and internship programmes within the region and beyond,;
    helping the establishment of personal contacts and the exchange of information;
    organizing training programmes;
    achieving certain political weight on order to enable some influence on important issues, such as the mobility of artists in an open Europe;
    mediation between independent and governmental institutions.

The project started at Ljubljana in 2002. Further meetings followed in Medana in (December 2002), in Flanders (March 2003), in Sarajevo (November 2003) in Sfantu Gheroge, Romania (June 2004), in Belgrade and Skopje (both in 2005).
Balkan Express is strongly supported by the IETM and is one of the founding members of the European Off Network.
