In der hypbriden Kultur Wiens und im dichten kulturellen Milieu Zentraleuropas lassen sich bereits in den Jahrzehnten um 1900 Prozesse nachweisen, die um 2000 von globaler Relevanz geworden sind. Die komplexen sozial-kulturellen Bedingungen Zentraleuropas bilden daher den Rahmen für ein Untersuchungsfeld, in welchem die Rekonstruktion von Moderne-Konzepten thematisiert und mit aktuellen Diskursen um Moderne - Postmoderne - Zweite Moderne - Globalisierung konfrontiert werden.
One can find processes that are of global relevance around 2000 as early as the decades around 1900 in the hybrid culture of Vienna and the dense cultural milieu of central Europe. The complex socio-cultural conditions of central Europe thus provide the frame for a field of investigation, where the reconstruction of concepts of modernity will be treate and confronted with current discourses dealing with modernity - postmodernity - second modernity - globalisation.
