Schreiben am Netz. Literatur im digitalen Zeitalter

Inwiefern, wo und in welchem Sinn hat, was "am Netz" gemacht wird, mit "Schreiben" zu tun? Was heißt "schreiben", wer schreibt wo am Netz, was ist sichtbar, was nicht? Aber auch: welche Bedeutung kommt dem "Schreiben am Netz" für die Literatur zu, respektive worin besteht diese im "digitalen Zeitalter"?
Im Hinblick auf das Symposion Schreiben am Netz. Literatur im digitalen Zeitalter, welches das Collegium Helveticum an der ETH Zürich vom 5.-7. Juni 2002 gemeinsam mit Walter Grond, seinem literarischen Gast, durchführte, wurden drei neue Diskursräume eröffnet, in und zwischen welchen diesen Fragen nachgegangen werden konnte: Labor, Salon und Chronik.
Als experimentelle Anordnung zur Erkundung neuer medialer Umgebungen gedacht, sollte, was sich von März bis Mai im Internet abspielte, als Basis, Material und Hintergrund für das Symposium dienen. Zugleich sollten hier neue Strategien erprobt und entwickelt werden, das Netz als Medium transdiziplinärer Forschung zu nutzen.
In how far, where and in what sense has what is being done in connection with the "web" to do with "writing"? What does "writing" mean, who is writing where in the web, what is visible, what not? And, furthermore, what is the importance of "writing and the web" for literature, respectively: what does literature consist of "in the digital age"?
In view of the symposium Writing and the Web. Literature in the Digital Age, organized by the Collegium Helveticum at the ETH Zürich and Walter Grond, its literary guest, from June 5-7, 2002, three new areas of discourse were opened: Laboratory, Salon, Chronicle.
These three areas were conceived as an experimental arrangement for the exploration of new media environments. What was evolved here between March and May at the internet should serve as basis, material and background for the symposium, one of the aims being the development and exploration of new strategies to use the www as a means of transdisciplinary research.
