Bild und Evidenz

Die Evidenz hat ihren Ort im Bild, aber sie ist immer auch woanders: in der Bildlegende, die dem Blick eine Richtung vorgibt; in der Glaubwürdigkeit der Person oder der Autorität einer Instanz, die das Bild produziert hat; in den Funktionen der Technik, auf der seine Herstellung beruht.
Dieser besonderen Qualität bildlicher Evidenz - einerseits im Bild zu sein, andererseits einer zusätzlichen Aktivierung zu bedürfen - will die Tagung vom 9.-11. Oktober 2003 an Beispielen aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen der Kultur nachgehen.
The image is the space of evidence, although she always is produced elsewhere, too: by the legend of pictures that is steering the line of view; by the credibility of an individual or institutional authority that has produced the image; by the respective productive mechanics.
The conference on October 9-11, 2003 is focussing on these properties of evidence - to be inside the image, but nevertheless to need an additional activation. Therefore, examples of different cultural spheres are analysed.
