Concepts and Consequences of Multilingualism in Europe

Die Konferenz setzt sich mit den kulturellen, sprachpolitischen, sozialen und verwaltungstechnischen Fragen der Mehrsprachigkeit innerhalb der Europäischen Union auseinander. In den Beiträgen sollen diese aus historischer, juristischer und kulturpolitischer Perspektive angesprochen und die Folgen für die europäische Minderheitenpolitik, Kommunikation und Identität thematisiert werden.
Einreichschluss ist der 15. Februar 2009.
The conference will discuss questions raised by multilingualism in the European Union in terms of culture, language politics, society and techniques of administration. The papers shall address these questions from the perspective of history, legal practice and cultural policies, and shall encounter the consequences for minority policies, communications and identity in Europe.
