Ob wir es mit Demonstrationen, Hausbesetzungen, Fernsehauftritten, Straßen-Performances, Versammlungen oder mit Filmen und Zeitungsreportagen zu tun haben, - stets erscheinen politische Äußerungen in inszenierter Form. Die Analyse diverser Erscheinungsformen einer Ästhetik des Politischen steht im Zentrum dieses Bandes. Der politische Raum wird von den Autorinnen und Autoren als ein "Erscheinungsraum" begriffen, in dem stets unterschiedliche Stimmen und Perspektiven in Auseinandersetzung stehen.
Die Aufsätze stellen sich einer immer noch recht weit verbreiteten Sicht entgegen, die eine "Ästhetisierung des Politischen" als ein vermeidbares Übel darstellt und von einer "Politisierung der Kunst" abgrenzt. Diskutiert wird, in welchen Inszenierungsformen politische Äußerungen von welchen Akteurinnen und Akteuren in eine noch weiter zu skizzierende Auseinandersetzung entlassen werden. Weiters wird gefragt, in welchem Verhältnis das solcherart inszenierte Politische zum Feld der Kunst steht.
Whether it is a question of demonstrations, squats, TV performances, street-art, public meetings or films or journalistic reports - political expressions always appear in a staged form. The analysis of several forms of appearance of an aesthetics of the political is at the centre of this volume. The authors understand the space of the political as a "space of appearance", where a variety of voices and perspectives are continually engaged in a struggle for recognition. The essays oppose a widespread opinion according to in which the "aesthetics of the political" is regarded as an avoidable evil and is distinguished from the "politisation of art". An outline of a further analysis discusses the precise forms and actors involved in staging the issuing of political statements. In addition, the issue of relationship between such staged political acts and the field of art is raised.
