Egon Hostovskýs Das Versteck (Úkryt) und Der Leichenverbrenner (Spalovač mrtvol) von Ladislav Fuks – zur Darstellung von Geisteskrankheit in der tschechischen Literatur

Das Motiv der Geisteskrankheit erfreut sich in der Literatur großer Beliebtheit, wobei es durch seine Wandelbarkeit, Mehrdeutigkeit und Widersprüchlichkeit ganz unterschiedliche Erscheinungsformen annimmt. Die zwei im folgenden Beitrag vorgestellten Werke der tschechischen Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts, Egon Hostovskýs Úkryt [Das Versteck] und Spalovač mrtvol [Der Leichenverbrenner] von Ladislav Fuks, greifen vor dem Hintergrund des Protektorats Böhmen und Mähren und des Zweiten Weltkriegs das Motiv der Geisteskrankheit auf, funktionalisieren es jedoch auf gegensätzliche Weise: der künstlerischen Produktivität von Hostovskýs tschechischem Ingenieur steht die zerstörerische Gewalt des mörderischen Leichenverbrenners gegenüber.
The theme of mental illness is very popular in literature, appearing in many different forms due to its changeability, ambiguity and paradoxes. The following article presents two works of Czech literature of the 20th century, Úkryt [The Hideout] by Egon Hostovský and Spalovač mrtvol [The cremator] by Ladislav Fuks. They deal with the theme of mental illness in the context of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Second World War in two different ways: the artistic productivity of Hostovský’s Czech engineer contrasts with the destructive violence of the cremator.
Motiv duševní choroby se v literatuře těší velké oblíbenosti, kdy často skrze svoji proměnlivost, mnohoznačnost a rozpornost nabírá velice rozdílné formy napětí. Úkryt Egona Hostovského a Spalovač mrtvol Ladislava Fuchse, dvě díla české literatury 20. století, která jsou představena v tomto textu, zachycují motiv duševní choroby na pozadí druhé světové války a protektorátu Čechy a Morava Přejímají jej avšak protikladným způsobem: proti umělecké produktivitě Hostovského českého inženýra stojí ničivá síla vražedného spalovače mrtvol.
