Anastasius Grün und das Vereinte Slowenien

Im Beitrag wird zunächst die historische Situation in Krain der Vormärzzeit kurz umrissen. Es folgt eine kurze Biografie von Anastasius Grün unter besonderer Berücksichtigung seiner Beziehungen zu Krainer Autoren slowenischer und deutscher Zunge. V.a. aber wird sein Verhältnis zu slowenischer Kultur, Literatur und Sprache thematisiert sowie sein (Un-)Verständnis für Bestrebungen der Slowenen für ihre politische Gleichberechtigung innerhalb der Habsburger Monarchie (Vereintes Slowenien): Grün war Krain zwar wohl gesonnen, war aber gleichzeitig von der Mehrwertigkeit der deutschen Kultur gegenüber der slowenischen überzeugt und konnte somit die Einführung der slowenischen Sprache in Grundschulen und die Utraquisierung der Mittelschulen in den 60er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts verhindern.
The article briefly outlines the historical situation in Carniola during the pre-revolutionary period of Vormärz, and gives a brief biography of Anastasius Grün by taking into special account his relations to authors in Carniola of Slovenian and German mother tongue. Particular attention is paid to his relations to Slovenian culture, literature and language, and to his (lack of) understanding of the efforts of Slovenians to establishing political equality within the Habsburg Monarchy (Vereintes Slowenien). Even if Grün was well disposed towards Carniola, he was convinced of the superiority of German culture compared to the Slovenian so that he could prevent the introduction of Slovenian language at primary schools and the bilingual education at secondary schools in the 60s of the 19th century.
