Die anderen Räume des Sozialismus. Internationale Baustellen in der Sowjetunion und ihre Erinnerung

In den 1970er und 1980er Jahren wurden in der Sowjetunion mehrere Erdgaspipelines gebaut, an denen sich die meisten RGW-Staaten mit Arbeitsbrigaden beteiligten. Anhand dieser Projekte können, so das Argument des Beitrags, einige allgemeine Aussagen über die Raumkonstruktionen im Sozialismus abgeleitet werden. Der Beitrag untersucht anhand des ostdeutschen Falls die Baustellen als "andere Räume" des Sozialismus. Dabei werden die Kontrollen des Alltagslebens auf diesen Baustellen und das Verhältnis von Raumkonstruktion, nationalem und sozialistischem Kollektiv untersucht. Die Baustellen erscheinen gleichzeitig als "anderer", aber auch als disziplinierter Raum im Sinne Foucaults.
In the 1970s and 1980s, a number of natural gas pipelines we built and for which most CMEA states contributed worker brigades. On the basis of these projects, thus the argument of the article, several general conclusions on the construction of space in socialism can be deducted. The article examines by the means of the East German case the construction sites as 'other spaces' of socialism. In doing so, the monitoring/surveillance of the everyday life on these construction sites and the relation of the construction of space, national and socialistic collective is scrutinized. The construction site turned out to be simultaneously an 'other', as well as a disciplined space according (sensu?) Foucault.
