Framing Struggles. Critical Approaches to Anthropology and Sociology

Hauptanliegen der transdisziplinären Konferenz ist die Untersuchung der Rahmung kultureller, politischer und ökonomischer Bestrebungen durch die Akteure und die Wissenschaftler. Die Konferenz wird das Thema aus vier Perspektiven erfassen: Grenzen, Ökonomie, Konflikt; religiöse Moderne; Darstellung und Repräsentation von Kultur, Ethnizität und Gender; Aktivismus in (post-)sozialistischen Kontexten.
Einreichschluss ist der 1. Februar 2008.
The main purpose of this trans-disciplinary conference is to investigate how cultural, political, and economic struggles are framed, both by actors and scholars. The conference will tackle the issue from four perspectives: Borders, Economy, Conflict; Religious Modernities; Performing and Representing Culture, Ethnicity and Gender; Activism in (Post-)Socialist Contexts.
Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2008.
