Kontingenz, Kontextualität und Potenzialität von Lebens-Geschichten in Sergej Bolmats Roman V vozduche / In der Luft (2002)

Der Artikel befasst sich mit der literarischen Gestaltung von Lebensläufen und Selbstentwürfen im Kontext der kontingenzbestimmten Wirklichkeitserfahrung postmoderner, globalisierter Individuen. Am Beispiel von Sergej Bolmats 2002 erschienenem Roman
V vozduche / In der Luft (2002) wird untersucht, inwieweit sich dabei ein entdramatisiertes und positives Verständnis von Kontingenz als Kriterium der Offenheit und Potenzialität des Daseins literarisch postuliert. In Bolmats multiperspektivisch und episodisch angelegtem Roman sind drei Momente auffallend, anhand derer eine textstrukturierende Logik der offenen Möglichkeiten herausgearbeitet wird: Eine Figuren- und Kontextüberfüllung des Textes, eine Potenzialisierung von Lebens-Geschichten und eine antideterministische, originalitätsskeptische Offenheit der Identität. Dabei funktionieren Zufall und Koinzidenz als hypertrophierter Sinngebungsinstanzen für die Formbarkeit und zugleich Formlosigkeit heutiger Lebensläufe.
The article deals with the literary composition of life trajectories and concepts of the self of postmodernist, globalized individuals whose experience of reality is framed and determined by contingency. The example of Sergej Bolmats 2002 novel V vozduche / In the Air (2002) is analysed to determine, to what extend it shows a defused and positive comprehension of contingency as a criterion for the openness and potentiality of existence by literary means. In Bolmats novel, which is layed out in a multiperspectival and episodical way, three aspects attract attention, on the basis of which the logic of open possibilities, that structures the text, will be highlighted: a congestion of figures and contexts in the text, life-narratives that are full of potentiality, and an openness of identity, that stems from anti-determinism and scepticism towards the concept of originality. Chance and coincidence act as hypertrophical generators of meaning for the shapeable and yet shapeless trajectories of contemporary lives.
