Call for Contributions to the Volume of Essays on Specific Nationalisms

Es werden Essays angefragt, die sich mit dem Aufkommen und der Entwicklung bestimmter Nationalismen beschäftigen, und die die signifikantesten Texte, Symbole und Ereignisse, die für die Herausbildung einer Nation bzw. einer nationalen Bewegung herangezogen wurden, untersucht werden. Wo es möglich und praktikabel ist, sind auch lokale Studien zum Nationalismus i.A. willkommen, ebenso die sollte die Rezeption der internationalen Literatur zum Nationalismus in der jeweiligen Übersetzung in die lokalen Sprache(n) berücksichtigt werden. Auch theoretische Essays zur umfassenden Dynamik der Nations- und Nationsstaatsbildung werden unterstützt.
Einreichschluss ist der 30. Oktober 2004.
We are looking for essays that focus on the rise and development of specific nationalisms through the overview and analysis of the most significant texts, symbols and events that have been employed for the building of a specific nation and/or national movement. If possible and practical, also local studies on nationalism in general, and the reception of the world literature on nationalism as translated into the local language(s), should be taken into account. We also welcome analytical articles on the overall dynamics of nation- and nation-state-building.
Deadline for submissions is October 30, 2004.
