Die gemeinsame Konferenz der École Doctorale of the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) und der Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) widmet sich der vergleichenden Untersuchung von Nationen und Imperien, wobei nach dem Verhältnis Imperium und Religion, Nationalität und Imperium, Kolonialismus und Identität gefragt wird. Außer individuellen und Sektionsbeiträgen aus den Disziplinen Politikwissenschaft, Geschichte, Ethnografie, Internationale Beziehungen, Post-Colonial Studies u.v.m. werden auch Vorschläge für Diskussionsrunden über Filme und Dokumentarfilme sowie Bücher erwartet.
Einreichschluss ist der 13. Februar 2008.
The joint conference of the École Doctorale of the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and the Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) will address questions of nations and empires in a comparative perspective. The relations of nation and empire, nationalities and empire, colonialism and indentity should be discussed. Besides individual and panel proposals from various disciplines (ie. Political Theory, History, Ethnography, International Relations, Post-Colonial Studies etc.), the organisers welcome proposals for discussing films/documentaries and books, as well.
Deadline for submissions is February 13, 2008.
