Einheit - Vielheit - Entgrenzung. Bericht über den 10. Workshop des SFB Moderne in Pécs (Mai 2002)

Der 10. Workshop des Spezialforschungsbereichs Moderne - Wien und Zentraleuropa um 1900 hatte die Konzepte von Einheit bzw. Einheitlichkeit und deren sich um 1900 intensivierende Auflösungstendenzen zum Thema. Dies wurde diskutiert an Beiträgen über die Multiplizität und Dissoziation als Paradigmen der Moderne, am Beispiel von Allegorien und von Portraits in der bildenden Kunst oder der Ersten Symphonie Gustav Mahlers und dem Problem des Präsentischen in der Musik der Wiener Moderne. Die Auflösung der Dichotomie von Subjekt und Objekt wurde am Beispiel von Ehrenfels und Mach erläutert. Weitere Schwerpunkte bildeten die Konzeptionen von Geschlechtsidentität in der Psychoanalyse, das Oszillieren zwischen Ästhetisierung und Funktionalität am Beispiel von Adolf Loos und eine Diskussion über Inter- und Transdisziplinarität in den Kulturwissenschaften.
The 10th workshop of the special research group Modernism - Vienna and Central Europe around 1900 discussed concepts of unity and the by 1900 increasingly intensive trends to dissolve these concepts. These were discussed in papers on multiplicity and dissociation as paradigms of modernity. The topic was illustrated in allegories and portraits in the plastic arts or the First Symphony of Gustav Mahler and the problem of the "Präsentische" in the compositions of the Wiener Moderne. The dissolving of the dichotomy of subject and object was presented through the examples of Ehrenfeld and Mach. Furthermore there have been papers about the conception of gender in the psychoanalysis, the oscillation between aesthetics and function in the architecture of Adolf Loos, and a discussion on the question of inter- and transdisciplinarity in the Cultural Studies.
