Marxismus, Kultur, Kommunikation. Der Lukács-Brzozowski-Prioritätenstreit und die Folgen

Der Aufsatz thematisiert einen Aspekt der Rezeption der Philosophie von Georg Lukács in Polen. Er bietet eine neue Interpretationsalternative in Bezug auf die Polemik, die in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts sehr lebhaft war. Sie betraf die Priorität des polnischen Hegelianers Stanislaw Brzozowski (1878-1911) mit Blick auf die Thesen, die Lukács in seiner Geschichte und Klassenbewußtsein formulierte. Den Akzent von bloßen Fakten der eventuellen chronologischen Priorität Brzozowskis auf die kulturellen Konsequenzen seiner Einsichten verlegend, wird hier bewiesen, dass bei Lukács die anthropologische Wende des Marxismus mit einer konservativen Kulturauffassung Hand in Hand ging, Brzozowskis Werk aber als Ausgangspunkt des polnischen Kulturalismus dienen konnte. Auf dieser Basis können sich die Vertreter des Kulturalismus jenen Herausforderungen stellen wie die Position der rezeptiven Kulturen Zentraleuropas im gesamteuropäischen Kontext oder die Möglichkeiten der Bewahrung nationaler Kulturen in der Ära der neuen Kommunikationstechnik.
The study discusses an aspect of the reception of Georg Lukács’s philosophy in Poland. It offers a new alternative for the interpretation regarding the polemics which were very intensive in the 2nd half of the 20th century. It concerned the priority of the Polish Hegelian Stanislaw Brzozowski (1878-1911) with regard to those theses which were formulated by Lukács in his Geschichte und Klassenbewußtsein. By transposing the accent from the pure facts of the possible chronological priority of Brzozowski onto the cultural consequences of his ideas, it shall be demonstrated that for Lukács the anthropological turn of Marxism was followed by a conservative notion of culture, while the work of Brzozowski could serve as starting point for the Polish culturalism. Against this background the representatives of culturalism can take on challenges like the position of receptive cultures in Central Europe in the context of Europe as a whole or the possibilities of preserving national cultures in the era of new communication techniques.
