Die ungarische Geschichtsschreibung zur Zeit des Dualismus

Die Studie ist ein Auszug aus einer historiografischen Zusammenfassung des Autors. Der Verfasser behandelt ausführlich die verschiedenen Institutionen und Richtungen der ungarischen Geschichtsschreibung zur Zeit des Dualismus (1867–1918). Aus den verschiedenen Schulen werden v.a. die volkstümlich-realistische, die nationalromantische, die wirtschafts- und gesellschafsgeschichtlichen Schulen bzw. der sog. Wiener Kreis der ungarischen Geschichtsforscher dargestellt. Neben den offiziellen Strömungen wird auch auf die bürgerlichen Radikalen, den historischen Materialismus und auf die rassistisch geprägten Turaner hingewiesen. Die wichtigste Erscheinung der Periode scheint demnach die Herausbildung der sog. professionellen Geschichtswissenschaft in Ungarn zu sein.
The study is part of a historiographical synthesis of the author. The study depicts the most relevant institutions and streams of the Hungarian historical writing in the age of dualism (1867–1918). From the latests the author analyses first of all the so called ethno-realistic, the national romantic, the social- and economic-historical schools and the Viennese circle of the Hungarian historians. Beside the official historiography the study touches briefly the bourgeois radicals, the historical materialism and the racist conceived Turanism as well. The most important result of the period was the coming about of the so called professional historical writing in Hungary.
