The Nansen Dialogue Network Virtual School on "Dialogue, Democracy, and Peaceful Conflict Resolution" (Nov. 2006 - Jan. 2007) has launched a call for applications (deadline: 18 October) for politicians, NGO activists, journalists, representatives of local and regional governments and institutions from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. Applicants who have been selected will be notified by October 27 th.
The school will be in session from November 1st, 2006 to January 20th, 2007.
Duration of the school is ten weeks.

Lectures will be distributed to participants by e-mail (in Acrobat Reader).
Lectures will be 4 - 6 pages long and will probably contain additional materials or web links with more information about the topics they cover.
Participants will receive eight lectures in eight weeks (one lecture per week - November 1st to December 20th, 2006).
After the lectures end, the two remaining weeks will be dedicated to evaluation and writing of final essays.

Once a week on the agreed day (on Wednesday) participants will receive a lecture.
Within the next three days, each participant must confirm to the project leader by e-mail that the lecture has been received.
Four days after a participant receives a lecture, any related questions, comments and opinions about any lesson during the school can be (depending on the lecturer):
- Discussed on the Web forum on the Virtual School web site, or
- Sent to the lecturer by e-mail (Project leader will collect comments, opinions and questions send them to a lecturer and then return lecturer's responses to participants).
If a participant sends comments to the project leader or post them to the web forum there is no need to confirm the reception of lesson.
Participants will receive all instructions about the school.

It is necessary to send comments/opinions at least on half lessons.
At the end of the school participants are required to write an essay.

Successful participants will receive a certificate.
The best essays will be posted on the Virtual School web site.
Successful participants can take part in other programs/projects of NDN/NDCs.

Language:
The school will be organized in English.

Participation fee:
NO fee is charged for participation.

Lecturers will be experts from Norway and the Balkan region.
