Schwerpunkt der Konferenz vom 15.-17. April 2004 ist das brisante Verhältnis von Kultur und Herrschaft im europäischen Kontext und damit verbunden die Frage, inwieweit sich postkoloniale Theorien auf innereuropäische Zusammenhänge anwenden lassen. Die TeilnehmerInnen rekrutieren sich aus den verschiedensten Disziplinen, u.a. aus der Literaturwissenschaft, der Europäischen Ethnologie, der Geschichte, der Politikwissenschaft und der Philosophie.
The main topic of the confernce on Arpil 15-17, 2004 is the explosive relationship between culture and power and control within a European context. Related to this issue is the question to what extent postcolonial theorie might be applied on European conditions. The participants of the conference are of diverse academic backgrounds, i.e. literary studies, European ethnology, history, political science, and philosophy.
