September 2009.

The conference (March 25-26, 2010) is devoted to the imaginary and representation of cities in the contemporary crime fiction from Eastern-Central Europe. How do the historical-geographic features of the region and the recent changes in its history characterise its crime literature? Can we speak of a critical approach? Does crime fiction contribute to shape the tourists’ myths on Eastern-Central European cities? Which stylistic strategies are to be found in the staging of the cities as sites of crime?

Deadline for submissions: September 30, 2009.
