Biography and Identity: Dilemmas and Opportunities. 4th Annual Graduate Conference in European History

Die Konferenz erwartet Beiträge, die die Biografie in die Identitätsdebatte integrieren, bzw. Fallstudien, die einen neueren Zugang zur Biografie in einem breiteren europäischen Raum von der mittelalterlichen zur neuzeitlichen Geschichte anwenden. Außerdem sind nicht nur Überlegungen zu geteilten Biografien und ego-history willkommen, sondern auch Papers, die disziplinäre und methodologische Grenzen erproben sowie überhaupt die Genredefinition in Frage stellen.
Einreichschluss ist der 15. Februar 2010.
The conference invites contributions that integrate biography into debates about identity, as well as case studies that utilize novel approaches to biography in the field of the wider European space from the Medieval to the Contemporary historical period. Contributions on shared biographies and ego-history are also encouraged, as well as papers that probe the boundaries of discipline and methodology, but also question the very definition of the genre.
Deadline for submissions: February 15, 2010.
