This article presents one aspect of the author's PhD on "Postmodern Russian Literature". The contribution explores buddhist deep structures in Pelevin's novels Čapaev i Pustota, Generation "П", and Čisla: the constellations of protagonists, the story lines and the presentations of the charcters follow the geometrical laws of square, triangle, and circle, that are significant for Eastern philosophy. In this context, the protagonist's initiations are related to these figures and allow for the buddhist interpretation. Moreover, the tri-logic deep structure of the three novels can be analysed as Mandala. Parallel to this composition of the novels their reading can be understood as meditation and shows Pelevin's attempt to offer remedies to the contemporary reader, sickend by pop culture and mass media.
